Besides my near Quixotic quest to find more 1:43 scale Ferraris, I've also been looking for regular-sized (1:64 scale) Hot Wheels Ferraris lately at local stores, but they're surprisingly hard to find as well.

But I was lucky enough to find this Ferrari 430 at Zellers... I like how the Ferrari logos are in the right places and are more or less to scale. The Hot Wheels Ferraris of my childhood either had large Mattel-designed variations of the Ferrari logos on the hood, or no logos at all. Also, the headlights are nicer-looking than the way I remember Hot Wheels looking as a kid. My only complaint is that the bottom of the car is silver-painted plastic rather than die-cast metal... I have a few Hot Wheels from the 70s and 80s with plastic bottoms, and the paint itself rusts and goes an ugly brown.

Mattel Hot Wheels "Classic 32 Ford Vicky" as it is stamped on the bottom. This is a Made in the USA released 1968 redline. I liked the 1932 Ford so much I don't think it got much play, I just liked looking at them. This one is mint condition and runs as good as it looks, hard to believe it was made in 1968. As you can see, always in the garage.
